It’s been a month full of love as we head closer and closer to vital and rejuvenating springtime! If you’re looking for the perfect stones to capture February’s energy, we’ve got the rundown. We’ve created a heart of stone perfect for harnessing or complementing the cosmic and ethereal qualities of Aquarius and Pisces.

Chevron Amethyst

Looking for a variation on the traditional February birthstone, amethyst? We’d love to recommend the banded, or chevron, amethyst. Layers of quartz create bands of white in the amethyst, which is a deep violet variety of quartz itself. Clear quartz is often used alongside other stones to enhance their properties. This means chevron amethyst has a built-in power boost.

Turn to chevron amethyst for the same reasons you would use a typical amethyst. Expect your intuition and sense of connectedness to increase with the influence of this soothing and sobering stone. Chevron amethyst will help you approach your spiritual and psychological work with an engaged and clear-headed attitude.

Blue Apatite

Blue stones often connect to the water element and all that comes with it. That includes the final sign of the zodiac, Pisces, which begins in the latter part of February. Like water, blue apatite has the power to dissolve and clear away, allowing energy, emotions, and expression to flow freely. Choose this stone when you’re making a slow transition, forging a path for yourself as you go.

Linda Mason from Crystal Vaults writes, “Blue Apatite is the color of ice reflecting the slowly lightening winter sky as the deep violets depart and the sun climbs higher each day. As winter gives way to spring, and new life is ready to burst forth, blue marks the beginning of life and emotion. Blue crystals bring trust, faith, patience, and respect, lending the focus we need to become more sincere, act more responsibly, and become more trustworthy.”

Rhodonite

The gorgeous pink hues of rhodonite inspired its name, which means rose. As we explored in our blog on aphrodisiacs earlier this month, the rose flower opens and expands the heart chakra, promoting love and compassion for the self and others. The same can be said for this love-ly stone, which is unparalleled for its heart lifting abilities. Clearing and healing the energetic body from the heart chakra outward allows our efforts to flow where they are needed, just as our blood does. This is a wonderful stone for the altruistic Aquarian or adoring Pisces.

To strengthen your connection with a loved one:

Hold a piece of rhodonite. Find a comfortable seat, and begin to relax with a few rounds of breath. With each inhale, send oxygen to parts of the body that feel uncomfortable or tight. With each exhale, release some tension. Begin to visualize your circulatory system, and with each heartbeat envision light moving through your body. Feel it as it moves through your torso, all the way to the tips of your fingers and toes. Feel it moving across your scalp and up and down your spine. As the light builds throughout your body, envision your loved one sitting across from you, filled with and surrounded by their own light. Finally, envision your respective light bodies leaning in for an embrace. Hold here as long as you care to before slowly wiggling your fingers and toes and returning to your space.
