Breathe deeper.
Move with intention.
Yoga practiced in a salt-infused room – where ancient movement meets the healing power of halotherapy.
WELCOME
A sanctuary for your body, breath, and spirit
At 1881, yoga isn’t just a class on a schedule – it’s an experience layered with intention. Our classes take place inside our Community Salt Room, where the air itself is doing quiet, cumulative work for your respiratory system while your body moves, rests, and restores.
Whether you’re brand new to yoga or returning to the mat after time away, you’ll find a welcoming, judgment-free space. We bring the mats. You just bring yourself.

WHY IT WORKS
When yoga meets salt therapy, something shifts.
Salt therapy — also called halotherapy — fills the air with microscopic salt particles that travel into your airways as you breathe. On its own, it’s deeply cleansing and calming. But when you pair it with yoga’s breath-focused movement, the two practices amplify each other in a way that’s hard to describe until you’ve felt it.
Think of it like this: yoga asks you to breathe deeply and deliberately. Halotherapy makes that breath more effective. The result is a session that feels twice as restorative as either practice alone.
Deeper, more effective breathing
Salt particles help clear airways and reduce inflammation, so your pranayama (breathwork) actually goes further.
Amplified stress relief
The salt environment supports the nervous system’s shift from “fight or flight” to rest — deepening the relaxation yoga already creates.
Reduced allergy & sinus symptoms
Regular sessions can help clear respiratory congestion — making movement more comfortable, especially for allergy sufferers.
Skin & whole-body benefits
Salt’s natural antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties benefit the skin and immune system while you practice.
Cumulative, lasting results
Like halotherapy itself, the benefits of salt yoga build over time. Regular attendees report better sleep, less tension, and greater ease of movement.
OUR OFFERINGS
Four types of yoga, one extaordinary space
All classes welcome every level – modifications are always offered. Mats are supplied. Come as you are.
Deeply Relaxing
Restorative Yoga
Restorative yoga is the art of doing less to receive more. Using props like bolsters, blankets, and blocks, poses are held for extended periods — giving your body a chance to fully surrender rather than strive. There’s no straining, no sweat, and no “getting it right.” The goal is pure, supported rest. In the salt room, the combination of gentle stillness and healing air creates one of the most deeply calming experiences we offer.
Ideal for: stress recovery, chronic tension, those new to yoga, anyone who needs permission to slow down
Meditative – Deep Stretch
Yin Yoga
Yin yoga targets the deeper connective tissues — fascia, ligaments, and joints — that faster-paced yoga styles don’t reach. Poses are held in stillness for three to five minutes, inviting your body to open gradually and your mind to settle. It’s a practice of patience and presence. Think of it as a conversation with your body rather than a performance. In the salt-infused air of our sanctuary, Yin becomes a full sensory meditation.
Ideal for: tight hips and hamstrings, anxiety, mindfulness practice, athletes seeking recovery

Guided Meditation – Rest
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra — sometimes called “yogic sleep” — is a guided practice where you lie completely still while a teacher leads you through layers of awareness, from the physical body to the breath to sensation to deep stillness. You are fully awake, yet deeply resting. Research suggests that 45 minutes of Yoga Nidra can be as restorative as several hours of sleep. Practiced in the salt room, where the environment is already designed for quietude, Nidra becomes something close to transcendent.
Ideal for: insomnia, burnout, trauma recovery, anxiety, those who find traditional meditation difficult

Functional Movement
Mobility Yoga
Whether
Mobility yoga bridges the gap between traditional yoga and functional movement — the kind that makes everyday life feel better. This practice focuses on joint health, range of motion, and building stability through movement rather than stillness. It’s practical, purposeful, and deeply satisfying. You’ll move with intention, building the kind of physical ease that follows you off the mat. Classes in the salt room add a respiratory dimension that makes even active breathing feel more open and efficient.
Ideal for: joint stiffness, post-injury recovery, desk workers, those returning to movement after time away

Steph Cucina
YOGA INSTRUCTOR – 1881 Salt Sanctuary
Stephanie’s mission is beautifully simple: to help others create a deeper connection to their breath, their physical body, and their most authentic self. She holds space that is genuinely safe and non-judgmental, meeting each student exactly where they are — not where they think they should be.
Steph brings her whole heart to every class, and her passion for this work is evident the moment you step onto the mat. She offers a wide range of practices — including all yoga styles, aerial yoga, sound healing, and Reiki — and she’s devoted as much to her own continued growth as she is to supporting yours.
You can also call 717-894-1881 to schedule a private yoga session in the Salt Room for you and up to five others.
