About Salt
If you’re new to dry salt therapy, you may be wondering how it works, where it comes from, or if it can help you. Salt therapy is not another wellness fad. In fact, its benefits were first noted in the mid 1800’s by Polish physician, Feliks Boczkowski, who observed better health amongst salt miners relative to those working in other types of mines. This led to the the therapeutic use of Europe’s salt caves for restoration and treatment. As the evidence for salt’s effectiveness grew, scientists continued to pursue more accessible means of spreading the benefits of dry salt therapy, even developing devices like salt inhalers for those suffering from respiratory illnesses. Today in our salt rooms, we use a halogenerator to grind salt into very fine particles, which then circulate throughout the air, simulating the environment of the salt mines.
